Sunday Ritual
Each Sunday, after church, we've found a little piece o' heaven at our local Mickey D's. I order while Galoot runs next door to the news stand for the Sunday papers (our city's local paper and The Buffalo News). We then proceed to the playground area to eat. Once the kids have finished their breakfast happy meals, they are allowed to hit the play ground for fun time. It is at this point that Galoot and I kick back and read our papers, clip coupons (for our next stop - the grocery store) and wonder why every other family in town hasn't thought of this? It's awesome.
Here are some pics from yesterday's trip:

<- Here's Galoot posting up on the jungle gym. Word.
I appear pleased by the Sunday coupon assortment. ->
I should point out that we totally skipped church because of the time change. Just didn't want you to think Galoot's Sunday best is a nasty old flannel (that he won't throw away - I hate this shirt which is a grody 80's black and aqua - awesome dude).
The rest of the day we shopped (and argued about "needing" a new flat panel TV). After a long trip to Walmart and a quick stop at K-mart we'd somehow decided it would be in our best interests to go Hi Def. Most of the afternoon was spent modifying our entertainment center to accommodate the purchase. The good news is I only had to call DishNetwork once to figure out why the signal wasn't working. Note to self *if there is a rogue cable wire hanging around, it should probably be plugged into something, especially if said cable was not hanging loose before you started moving crap around*.
Anyone wanna come over for movie night?

Sat. we went to town and on our way home stopped at a mall - I went in the craft store and Hubby the electronics one. I went to meet him in there after I was done. He was waiting for me by the cash with this look on his face... He had just bought a flat widescreen 26"!!! For the bedroom... The picture is pretty amazing...I must admit... Men and their toys...
BTW, thanks for "clarifying" that you didn't go to church... Hunting shirt might be comfy and all, but church attire... it is NOT! ;-)

You married people and your adventures... how I envy you.
Thank you for posting the picture of you reading the sunday supplement section. I would have missed "Lobster Fest" if it weren't for your blog.
Also... I am very curious... the kids look very happy in the other photo, but what the heck is with Galoot? He looks as if he taking a hit out on someone via cell phone. I am curious who he could be talking to that would make his face do that...

I love the picture of you, you look so absorbed :) and Mr Fly would be so jealous of the TV - he keeps claiming he "needs" a flat screen but I say the baby is going to need diapers worse. He's not buying!

We just went to the McDonald's playland for the first time last week. Fun! (Note to self...Next time go about 8AM on the weekend when SO MANY other people aren't there).
We skipped church due to the time change, too. It was a pretty lame excuse, if I do say so myself, because we headed out earlier than we usually leave for church to meet some friends at a park. Oh well, we enjoyed a beautiful day!

The photo of me was staged. I think the look on my face is #43 "Consternation".
That shirt is perfect for lazy Sunday mornings. It is great for someone like me who is color blind. Black, blue, what else could I ask for? Plus it is a heavy flannel.

I look forward to the day that we're living like the Jetsons and don't have to worry about rogue cable wires. I get sick of the jumbled up mess and it makes me not want to EVER get a new one.

I found your blog using Google to see if anyone else has a family that yells "Patty's Pot on Ye" at each other on St. Patrick's. Just a note to let you know yours isn't the only one. Our family - now in Massachusetts, once in County Mayo - keeps the tradition going. If you're the first to say it, then the "loser" has to grant you a wish, a la leprechauns. Weird...

SPaw - I cannot BELIEVE you got a TV too! That's so funny. I'll have to admit, for all the fight I put up, I'm really enjoying it.
Mr. S - Galoot was being, well, a Galoot. Need I say more?
Slea - are you talking about is left hand... or his right hand?
FlyB - I was totally posing. Yes, I'm a poser. Who really needs a flat screen?
Monkey - I'm guessing you mean Galoot and the jungle gym. Although... I AM wearing a skort under there...
3C - Ya, time change was a lame excuse, but nonetheless true. Mickey D's playland rocks!
Galoot - Lazy Sunday!!
Shopper - yes, the JETSONS! I NEED a rosie robot.
Anon - THANK YOU! I thought we were Irish outcasts. Patty's pot on ya!
