Note to Others
Oh tell me you remember this stuff. I can't remember what cool ass name it had back in the early 90's, but I googled "plant gel" and this is the pic I got. I remember living in a nasty apartment, not being able to afford shit (I recall a few diving expeditions into the couch cushions for spare change) but somehow - I could afford me some plant gel. I don't even think I had a plant in it. I just liked the way it felt when I ran my fingers through it. Some perfectly stupid, irresponsible, early 20's reasoning.
Last week, while changing the laundry from washer to dryer, I reached into the vat of wet clothes only to be met with the slimy touch of my old friend. I pulled out a handful of plant gel! I stared at it for a minute trying to figure out where it came from - a silica gel packet? - possibly. Something my kids left in their pocket form school? - perhaps. I then actually looked into the washer - this shit was EVERYWHERE! What the hell? A little more searching produced the culprit - a pull-up. I'm guessing my son left one inside his jammies when he took them off one morning and it ended up in his hamper.
I wasn't happy with the mess it caused, but now at least I can say I know what's inside a pull-up - plant gel. I'm sure I'll get tons of hits off google from other enquiring minds. Errrrr, maybe not.
I've been curious about the contents of a pull up.....now I know. At least it wasn't a dead frog or worms left in a pocket........................

Back in my day, we would have taken the smallest child and had them crawl into the washer with their little hands and clean up the mess...

What an ooey gooey mess. I never washed one but I did see a kid jump into a wading pool wearing one.

Interesting. I'll be especially careful to keep those out of the washer...Not that there's room in the washer, what with the tissues from hubby's pocket that somehow end up in there, no matter how thoroughly I think I've checked his pockets...
