Yep, it was the first day for of Kindergarten for preppygirl junior. She was so excited she could hardly keep still. Too cute. We pranced off to school (we only live about two blocks away) around 8:15. Galoot's mom was also along for the special day. We took many (okay, probably too many) pics to record the momentus occasion. As we walked, I thought back to my first day of kindergarten and, in all honesty, I don't really remember much (except what I wore - the important stuff). Once at at the school we were swimming in a sea of children and parents all waiting for the school doors to open. A quick look around had me wondering - how did we ever live without cartoon character back packs, insulated lunch boxes and Razor scooters growing up? It's crazy the things you never knew you needed 30 years ago. Anyhoo, it was a fun morning in our little corner of the world.
Here are a few pics for your viewing enjoyment:

Do you see a slight resemblance?
Very cute! I see the resemblance in the kindergarten pictures, and in the one of the two of you together.
It always amuses me when people say which one of us our son looks like. We don't see a large resemblance to either of us, but everyone else seems to have their opinion. The majority think he looks like hubby, but every once in a while someone insists that he looks just like me.

No doubt she's yours! Too cute! Love those cheeks! On both of you!!!
Back in our days, we had lunch boxes, didn't you have one, like "Happy Days"?
I remeber my note books when I started junior high, with Kiss, and Travolta in Saturday Night Fever...

I had a metal Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox, with matching thermos, of course. It was the best.
Your daughter is so cute! And how cute is it that she looks just like you did in kindergarten! Cute cute cute cute cute!

3C - Sometimes I'm not sure that either kid looks like me or Galoot, but they totally look like each other!
SP - Of course I had a sweet metal lunchbox with Pebbles & Bam Bam from the Flintstones (the teenage years). I later upgraded to a nice tupperware model
Slea - Nice new screen name (though you will always be princess to me). I did suggest pig tails but she wasn't havin' it.
R - Oh I defintiely had the thermos to match the Flintstone lunch box too. I actually found a pic of it on Ebay recently (dang, you can find ANYTHING there).
GG - Ya, she's pretty darn cute, I'll admit.

PGirl Junior is pretty funny when walking to school (and pretty much on any sidewalk). She tends to skip and hop a lot. Kind of like she's playing a one-girl version of invisible hop-scotch.
