Dang I Need to Post!
The past week's been a whirlwind. I've been busy as all get out at work. Luckily, the long hard week was rewarded with two nights without the kidlets (thanks to Galoot's mom). Friday we hit a nice little restaurant where Galoot and I shared a bottle of a nice pinot noir called "Pinot Evil," yum. Saturday we headed out to the Cleveland area where two good friends were celebrating their recent Canadian nuptials with a "Brokeback Barbeque," complete with tequila and Karaoke. Fun was had by all.
I also slipped into "obsession" mode by visiting the house from, "A Christmas Story" in Cleveland. Here's how you might remember it:

Here's how it looked Saturday through my camera phone:

I would have liked to pose for a picture on the porch, but my bladder was on overload making it difficult to move (oh, FUDGE!) Maybe next time. The company who produces the "leg lamps" recently purchased the house and plans to open it as a museum. They are renovating the interior to be similar to the movie set. All the interior shots were not actaully filmed in this house. The outside will, of course, be restored to its look from the movie (yes, I know way too much about this). I will surely make another trip out once it's completed. Although you can't see it past the dumpster, the original shed out back (where he "shoots his eye out") still stands in all its green & gold glory. NADAFINGA!

One of my bosses is very much into that movie. We employees actually gave him a leg lamp for Christmas a few years back. I'm sure his wife appreciated that...

Yes, this movie is a "must-see" Stinkpaw. Beginning on Christmas eve in the states, there is a TV channel that shows this movie concsecutively for 24 hours ("A Christmas Story" marathon!) While this has pretty much OVER exposed the movie for many people (in other words, we've all seen the entire movie at least 25 times by now)- it's still a great flick. Check it out! I think you'll enjoy it.

Despite the 24 hour showings every year, I have never seen A Christmas Story either! Since H finally gave in and watched The Sound of Music, I guess I will have to give in this year and watch A Christmas Story.

there was even a question on the World Series of Pop Culture about "A Christmas Story".
It was an easy one: What did Ralphie ask Santa for, for Christmas as he was being pushed down the slide?

Oh I am so jealous but Mr Fly is even more so - both him and his Dad LOVE Christmas Story and we even got his Dad a leg lamp for Christmas last year! When he opened it he started laughing and asked if it was fra-gee-lay.
I thought of you the other night when I was totally stressed out about work and when I finally relaxed enough to go to bed, I turned on the tv and The American President was on, it made me feel better. And yesterday, I was in DC for dinner and I made my co-worker drive around Dupont Circle and when I explained why, she just laughed - but you understand....
Sorry for the long comment!

Yez - that "leg lamp" guy bought the house site unseen off ebay. He may possibly be a little more obsessed than me.
-R- I do believe you will find it quite entertaining.
Princess - I want an official red ryder carbine action 200-Shot, Range Model Air Rifle (with a compass and a stock and this thing that tells time!)
FlyB - Whoa! We have both visited places from our favorite movies all in one week! The stars are aligning. I would've gone to Dupont Circle too just so I could utter the words, "I got stuck on Dupont Circle again..."

Agreed, Wordnerd. It's one of those movies that you catch something new everytime you watch it.
Shpprgrl - that woven tapestry of obscenities is still hanging in space somewhere over Lake Michigan...
