Top Ten Toys
I kinda stole this from Princess who (inspired by VH1's "I Love Toys") decided to list her top ten toys. Feel free to blogiarise it for your very own.
My Top Ten Toys:
10. Hula Hoop - I know Princess thinks these were for kids in the 50's but I had a sweet red, white & blue one that I used incessantly for 2 or 3 summers.
9. Baton - I was SOOOOO that kid in the neighborhood who would stand outside for hours twirling and twirling.
8. Flip n' Fold Fashions - LOVED making outfits with this. My daughter now has a Barbie version with updated fabrics and accessories.
7. Greeting Card Plates - this was the "cousin" of fashion plates but it made greeting cards. - good for a "suck up" kid like me.
6. Little People - back in the day we had the doll house, airport, sesame street, castle and our neighbors had the A-frame. We'd make a whole village - decent.
5. Fuzzy Pumper - play-doh barber shop complete with molds for "perms" and plastic scissors. Sweet.
4. Huffy Thunder Rose bike - Loved it, loved it, loved it. White, banana seat, white basket. Awesome.
3. Chinese Jump Rope - played everyday at school during recess - do they even HAVE recess anymore?
2. Barbies - I had the whole village going on in my basement.
1. My Friend Mandy - I LOVED this doll. She had lots of different outfits and would come with patterns to make more clothes. I still have it (and most of the clothes) and my daughter loves it!

that is cute that kate plays with your old dolly. i made the mistake of giving my fake cabbage patch doll* to mazzy and she drew in marker a necklace and watch on her. i've had that doll for over 20 years.
* i was one of those sad girls that never got a real cabbage patch kid. (tears) my mom had one made for me by a local woman who made dolls and teddy bears. i always resented that doll but i was very sad to see magda had drawn all over her. she was afterall, my baby.
my cousin had probably 20 cabbage patch dolls but they were all in the boxes and put up because my aunt wouldn't let her play with them. "collectible"
ps. i still think the hula hoop sux, batons were cool but i did not have the skillz that you obviously had (why didn't you post one of THOSE pics?)

I never had a real cabbage patch either. But Kate already does (all our relatives spoil her). She has so many dolls I don't even know where to put them anymore (time for another garage sale!)
I do secretly covet her cabbage patch. It smells good! Plus Kate thinks the signature on the butt is a tattoo. Wonder where she got that idea?
I should have scanned in some old pics for this post. Most of them are hilarious. My next project...

I had a Mandy doll, too! LOVED her! I also loved the little people (my mom still has them all in her attic!). And don't even get me started on the Barbies. My sister and I had enough Barbies to fill a city. We had the Dream House, the Motor Home, two pink convertibles, etc etc. We even played with them well past the time we were supposed to. Ooh! I think I'll blog about this instead of writing a gargantuan comment!
