No, I'm not Dead

Here's a Tuesday Ten for lack of anything more interesting.
  1. I have started my new job.
  2. I am missing my old office.
  3. I am missing my old computer.
  4. I am not missing my old salary.
  5. Is it wrong to return a going away present?
  6. I love working on a campus.
  7. When I went to get my campus ID, the lady thought I was a student! Heh.
  8. Galoot is out of town with the kids.
  9. I don't know what to do with myself.
  10. I guess I figured I could blog!

Hope all's well with the blogosphere!

I'm glad you're digging the campus thing. Congrats again. Welcome to Bubble-donia!!

Happy to read you're somewhat enjoying the new job or at least the location of it! I don't think it's wrong to return anything, I rather know that someone returned something and use it than not (but that's me!).

Hope to see you on IM soon ;-)

Hopefully the new salary is making up for what you're missing of your old job.

I'm OK with returning just about any gift (or regifting it, or selling it on ebay...)

Hooray for the new job! You might miss your old office, but at least you have a Starbucks close by if you need to find corporate-caffeine goodness.

I don't think there's a problem with returning the going away present, as long as it's not something any of those former co-workers are going to ask frequently about.

I'm glad that you like working on campus. I bet it's not the last time you're mistaken for a student! I got carded a few weeks ago and was told I looked much younger than 21. My response was, "I'm going to pretend that's a compliment."

Campus life truly is great - even when you're on the employee side of it. Tomorrow is my 1 year anniversary at CMU.

Congrats on all your new happiness. And yes, it is okay to return a going away present.

Yes, you can return a going-away present. Just not to the giver! Glad things are going so well!

You guys are all AWESOME! I did return the present. It was a coffee table book... which was nice and all but, not me. I got this really nice, kick-ass back pack (embroidered with my former employer's logo) which I am actually now using to transport my shtuff around campus. It's like being a kid again - yippee! And the best part? - my back pack is pink!

I was given a coffee table book a long time ago. For a while, I did keep in on the coffee table...Just because the name seemed to dictate that I should. Eventually it went out to a garage sale. Now we don't even have a coffee table (leaves more room for my son to play in the living room).

One time I had a backpack. For a while, I did keep it on my back... Just because the name seemed to dictate that I should. Eventually it began to smell like body odor. I took it off. Now I can apply deodorant again.
