Out of Office
I feel like I've been neglecting my blog and the whole blogosphere for that matter. I've just been busy with life in general. Kids, relatives, guests, the holidays - it's been a little crazy. I did, of course, take time out to watch "The Office" last Thursday - expecting it to provide an enjoyable break from my hectic week. While I laughed at the funny stuff (Was your dad a G.I.?), the part that's sticking with me is the whole Jim/Pam saga. I'm feeling slightly devastated.
I was totally crushed when Pam had to see Jim being buddy-buddy with Karen. It took me back to every guy I ever liked who kept me in the friend zone* while he flirted with the cute girls. Ugh. Then again, let's be real here, Pam did reject Jim (twice) - and even after she broke up with Roy she never contacted Jim. I'm sure Pam just needed to gain a little confidence (trapped with Roy before but now in a better state of mind). Can't Jim see that? But what's a guy to do? It's hard to resist the daughter of two entertainment legends (the actress who plays Karen is the daughter of Quincy Jones & Peggy Lipton). Even despite her awful hairdo, she's pretty damn cute (what is UP with that hairdo anyway?) And let's face it, Jim needed some ego boosting after Pam "auf-ed" him last season. I'm up in arms here.
So what could happen? Well, we can probably assume that Jim and Pam will end up together - but last week they did a damn good job of making it seem like that might never happen. Will Jim stay with Karen for a while? Will Karen get pissed when Jim finally tells her he was in love with Pam (assuming he hasn't already). Will Pam get jealous enough to use Roy to make Jim jealous? Will I stop talking about these people as if they were real?
Whaddya think?

In next week's episode, Jim is supposed to give Andy tips on wooing Pam. I'm just saying...

Why is there an asterisk by "friend zone"? Is there a footnote I'm missing?
Is Pam going to end up with the goofy HR guy for a while? I feel bad for him. Michael always zings him with things like "What do you know? Your solution to everything is to get divorced."

Jim's gonna give Andy tips? Oh this should be interesting.
3C - I hit publish a little to quickly, oops! Asterisk now inserted.
I feel badly for Toby too. That guy plays the Toby character so well - hilarious.

Andy? Who the heck is Andy? And why would he date Pam?
I think that Karen is like the purse salesgirl Tim dated on the British Office. He tried to date someone else, and he even liked her, but she just wasn't Dawn (aka Pam).
I love Toby, but I also love the guy who hates everything. He cracks me up.

R - Andy is the character Ed Helms plays. That whole Dwight/Andy storyline last week was awesome. I'm with ya on the comparison to the purse sales girl. Right on.
Shopper - Glad I am not alone!

R - oh, and I LOVE Creed too. He did a deleted scene where they said he lives under his desk 4 nights a week. He's so creepy, it's awesome.

Oh, THAT is Andy. I just call him Ed Helms. =) I heart the Ed Helms v. Dwight conflict.

WN - I hope they do something to ease the Jim/Pam tension and soon! Ya, that hoisting-the-fat-guy thing was too much. *~stress~*
Happy Thanksgiving to you!
