Wow, I Need to Blog More...

So, I guess I've been busy doing God knows what for a few weeks. Mom was in town for about 10 days which was GREAT but hectic. Then Len had a kidney stone last weekend. I hate seeing men in pain... they just don't get it! And now Kate has the stomach flu. We're a bunch of sickies!

The next major task on my checklist is Christmas Shopping. I don't really hate shopping, in fact, I usually love it... but I find picking out gifts unusually stressful. What if they don't like it? What if they already have it? The list goes on and on - and I worry about it way too much. This is probably because I have gotten some oh so undesirable gifts myself over the years, and it seems like such a waste.

I don't want to seem ungrateful. I am certainly thankful to have family and friends who think enough of me to give me anything at all, but it's sometimes depressing when everyone loves what they got, and I am struggling to eak out a "thank you" through my fake smile. Plus, I'm really not good at returning things (don't want to hurt feelings, etc.) Here's a short list of just such gifts:

A rosary from my hubby (then boyfriend). It is a BEAUTIFUL rosary, but it was our fist Christmas as a couple and when I shook the box, I guess I expected jewelry. Oops.

Size 18 pants from my mother-in-law. Excuse me, I know I has just had a baby at the time, but size 18? In her defense, they were mail ordered so she couldn't have seen how big they really were.

An XL robe from my mother-in-law. Way too big and this time, no excuse. She bought herself the identical robe in a size medium. I am starting to get a complex.

Dirty Dancing DVD from my hubby. I love you, but I'm not sure you know me at all.

An empty jewelry box from my hubby. It's very functional, but don't ever give a girl expecting some sort of ring an empty anything!

"The Queen of Clean" book from my hubby. Do all men think their wives are "obsessed" with keeping the house clean? It's called picking up after yourself!
In all fairness, I have also received an impressive list of GREAT gifts from my hubby and his mom - can't wait to report on this year's stuff!

What about my favorite gift you got from your boss? The book on procrastination. You know, the one you keep putting off reading.
Hilarious.

How could I forget that? Still haven't read it. In fact, I'm sure I threw it out... didn't procrastinate about doing that!
